My Story

My name is Kara Stenson and welcome to Pineapple Pantry! My journey as a chef began in the vibrant city of Seattle, where I was raised in a European family that held a deep appreciation for food. Surrounded by the delightful aromas of home-cooked meals crafted by my mother and the sweet treats baked by my grandmother, I developed a profound love for culinary arts from an early age. This passion propelled me into the restaurant world when I started cooking professionally at just 19 years old. Since then, I've had the incredible opportunity to work across the country under renowned chefs, including Tom Douglas and John Howie in Seattle, as well as Iron Chef Morimoto in Hawaii. My culinary education was enriched with authentic Asian and Mediterranean cuisines, laying a strong foundation for my skills. In 2018, I transitioned to becoming a private chef, a role that has allowed me to spend every summer in the Hamptons, catering to high-profile clients. This experience has not only honed my cooking skills but has also taught me how to source the finest ingredients from local Hamptons farmstands and purveyors. For the past eight years, I've made the Palm Beach area my home, working extensively in Wellington and Palm Beach Island. My unwavering passion for cooking and creating delicious food shines through in every dish I prepare, as I strive to present beautiful, colorful, and healthful meals that reflect my personal taste. As I move forward, my goal is to establish meaningful connections within Palm Beach County, expand my business, and continue to meet fascinating people while exploring new culinary adventures.
